We're getting to the point where Christmas music is everywhere. Well guess what? NOT HERE! Enjoy our favourite new releases of the last two weeks!
Fletcher Kent - Blindspot
Central Coast legend Fletcher Kent has releases his third single of the year, and it's a beautiful track fresh off getting engaged!
Fletch's music quite often gets all up in your feels, and 'Blindspot' is a perfect candidate to do the same. It's about all the good parts of falling in love.
There's a familiar voice harmonising on this one - his wonderful fiancé Lilly.
Fletch has also landed a massive support slot for Lewis Capaldi! Safe to say it's been a massive few months.
And Fletch, if you're looking for a great first dance song at your wedding, I have a great recommendation - it's called 'Blindspot' by Fletcher Kent!
Shanarah - coffee
Shanarah made her Who's Who debut back in April, and I described her release 'breathe' as "moody, but calm; simple, but layered; beautiful, but a tad haunting." i think the same juxtapositions can be appleid to 'coffee'.
It's only her second release, but Shanarah has landed herself in an area of scarcity for the Central Coast music scene.
For me, it's a blend of early Mallrat, mixed with a bit of Eluera and Lizzy McAlpine.
It was produced by the legend Tom Josephs with a helping hand by Owen Butterworth.
Shanarah's been making music for a while, but in terms of releases - she's only just getting started! So make sure you follow along the journey here.
CHEEKY LEASH - Burning Up
If you're not familiar with these guys, you should be! They're had a RED HOT 2025 so far. It all started when they met the Homebrewed lads before a recording session at Sonora Studios way back in August last year. Since then, they've been dropping release after release, including their debut EP 'The Burrow' back in March.
The four-piece are yet another cracking act from Wollongong, and their surf influence (surf-luence?) is obvious right from the start.
They're touring right around the country this month, including stops in Sydney (15/11) and Newcastle (16/11). There's also a hometown show, and a bunch more - check them out
Molly Millington - Girl Next Door
I'd describe this song the way I describe myself - short and sweet!
The track length for this one is only 1:39, but it delivers plenty of punch.
The guitar melody is somewhat comical, and knowing Molly, that's indicative of how much fun she's having with her music at the moment. 'Girl Next Door' is a very empowering song, saying that she won't change her core principals for anyone.
Molly's debut album 'Frank Morgan' is set for release in February next year, and from the tastes we've had so far, I'm definitely excited!
Foley - Honey
Following the release of their phenomenal second album 'That’s Life Baby! ' earlier this year — as well as recent single ‘Suckerpunch’ — ‘Honey’ sees the pair explore the moments where you know you’ve pushed a little too hard in an argument.
Bringing their brand of syrupy-sweet musical goodness to the matter, this release is sure to get your foot tapping.
The official music video for the track was filmed in South Korea, during the band’s recent trip there for a run of shows. With stunning scenes of Seoul city, and striking split timelapses which draw the viewer into Foley’s own little world– this visualiser is the perfect amplifier to the charm of ‘Honey’.
They also worked with some pretty serious talent for this release. It was mixed by Pedro Calloni (Chappel Roan, ELIO, Alex Warren), and mastered by Grammy-nominated audio engineer Nathan Dantzler (Sabrina Carpenter, sombr, Niall Horan, Jonas Brothers, Teddy Swims).
