Who's who in the last two? | August 15, 2025

Alright knuckle heads, listen up. We've got five new music releases for your listening pleasure. You will listen, and you will enjoy them. Or maybe not, this is a democracy after all and music is incredibly subjective. The point is, this is our favourite new releases of the last two weeks. Got it?

Molly Millington - Just Drive

Central Coast local Molly Millington has recently dropped her brand new single 'Just Drive', and along with it, an announcement of a debut album!

The album, titled Frank Morgan, is set for release in Februrary next year. It's a 12-track release, and if 'Just Drive' is anything to go by, it's safe to say we'll all be eating well, as the kids say (I think...)

Molly has perfected her blend of indie pop (did I just create a new genre? Probably not) and 'Just Drive' also ensures the foot is tapping along the whole time.

Behind the foot tapping and head bobbing, the track explores the therapeutic benefits of good music and long drive. "Now all I wanna do is just drive // Turn the music up and just cry // Feeling everything at once all the time // Leave it all behind and just drive."

The Belair Lip Bombs - Back Of My Hand

Speaking of artists who are due to drop a new album, The Belair Lip Bombs are also doing that at the end of the month with their Sophomore album Again.

I first came across the Frankston band in 2023 with 'Stay Or Go' from their debut album Lush Life.

'Back Of My Hand' is giving me strong Weezer vibes as the lead vocals soar through the punchy guitars.

The Lip Bombs will be heading over to Europe, before returning to the U.S in 2026.

The Rions - Scumbag

Hopefully, not a song written about us after our recent interview with the band.

'Scumbag' comes off their highly anticipated album Everything Every Single Day. It's an album full of class from top to bottom, and this focus track is no exception.

The Rions for me are a band that make you immediately fall in love with a song. From the very first guitar strum, drum whack (technical term), and vocal note, I'm left hooked and obsessed. The synths are charming and the melodies are catchy.

Could you ask for anything more?

Wafia - NOSEBLEED

'NOSEBLEED' marks a new chapter for Wafia, following her incredible set at BIGSOUND and arriving in the lead-up to her “Heartburn” ten-year celebrations.

It’s a track that bridges her breakout beginnings with everything that’s still to come. It's a kind of soaring pop made for dance floors or to feature in the HBO series Euphoria.

“This song was inspired by a particularly vivid night out listening to live music," said Wafia.

"I wanted to capture the energy and colour of an incredible night filled with dancing on the floor with friends and hard core make outs, because sometimes it can be that simple.”

Last Dinosaurs - Kxrma

Excited to bring you new (old?) music from Last Dinosaurs! Before you come at me and say something silly like "but but, they release Karma back in 2015, idiot!" I'd simple reply something like "notice how the 'a' is replaced by an 'x'? That means it's a new release, idiot!"

Anyway, other than trading hypothetical Dwight Shrute insults back and forth, I'd like to actually talk about this release.

Last Dinosaurs release the original 'Karma' back in 2015 from their record Wellness. If ya do the math, you quickly learn that mean it was 10 years ago. And if you know how these things trend, there's a good chance we're getting a '10th anniversary edition'.

The band themselves took to Instagram a few months ago to say "It’s been almost ten years since Wellness came out! We’re cooking up a little something to celebrate and looking for any artwork, drawings, paintings, images, and graphics from our fans. Hit the link in our bio! Looking forward to seeing what u got so we can put something special together."
