Who's who in the last two? | April 30, 2025

Pinch and a punch for the last day of the month. Slap on the back because we've got a bunch of new tracks!

Ally George - Crying in the Club

Central Coast local Ally George is back with another foot-tapping track, this time about a gut-wrenching heartache.

Like the title suggests, 'Crying in the Club' dives into the messiness of relationships. Ally captures the confusion and inevitability of a love that was doomed from the start.

Goerge says "If you haven’t cried in a club - firstly, you’re lying and secondly, yeah no neither have I."

Like Ally's last release, there will be a single launch on the 16th of May at The Chippo Hotel in Sydney. Get along if you can!

DICE - Alter Ego

WA group DICE have returned with their second single of the year following on from last year's successful debut album Midnight Zoo.

Perhaps one of the most prolific bands in the country, DICE have continued their tradition of releasing catchy indie rock with 'Alter Ego'.

DICE will be playing a show in Sydney this weekend, before heading off on a massive 25-date tour of the USA and Canada.

Holy Holy - Love You Still

Australian music royalty Holy Holy have released their first new music since 2023's album Cellophane.

'Love You Still' is a beautiful track and one that is incredibly fitting and emotional for fans of the duo.

If you missed it, Holy Holy have announced they will be going on hiatus after this year, and this track feels like a love letter to both the fans and each other.

It comes off an upcoming album, also fittingly titled, Sweet Bitter Sweet.

They'll be heading on their Hiatus Tour next month, which includes a stop at Drifters Wharf in Gosford on the 23rd of May.

Beddy Rays - Pocket Rocket

From the beautiful and emotional love letter, we move into an all-out-energy-fast-paced-track-with-lots-of-energy-kinda-thing. That might not be grammatically correct, but it accurately reflects how this track made me feel. "Speed and Power!" - Jeremy Clarkson.

If you love peak-90's The Offspring, this track and intro will have you high on nostalgia.

The band fromReddy Bay will be heading out on tour this August, with stops in Melbourne, Sydney, Freemantle, Adelaide, and Hobart.

Montaigne - it's all about the money

I'm starting to think it should be illegal for someone to make music as good as Montaigne at the moment. Especially when you consider the fact all of their music is entirely self-produced. Impressive!

Montaigne has been on a roll over the last six months or so, releasing four bangers in that time.

When we spoke with Montaigne in our first interview of 2025, they hinted that an entirely self-produced album would be in the works. They've since announced their fourth album, and first released independently, will be titled it’s hard to be a fish, and will be released on June 19.
